Curt Widhalm

Curt Widhalm is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (#47333) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Behavior Analysis from Saint Joseph’s University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Montana State University. He has clinical experience with clients from a variety of different backgrounds, ages, experiences, and reasons for seeking help.
Curt has worked in clinical, school, and community mental health settings. His background work includes work with children, adults, couples, families, and groups. He recognizes that each client is unique and requires an individualized approach for the best possible treatment outcome. Curt is certified in EMDR, which is a specialized approach to working with clients who have undergone trauma. He also is an EMDRIA-approved Consultant for those pursuing their own EMDR training.
Curt has been an active member of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (CAMFT) since 2006 He has served as the Chief Financial Officer and as a Member at Large on the CAMFT State Board of Directors and as the Past President of the San Fernando Valley Chapter. Curt is a CAMFT Certified Supervisor, and he has received numerous awards for his work within the therapeutic community at both the local and state levels. He is currently the chair of the CAMFT Ethics Committee. Curt has also taught in the Master’s Programs at California State University-Northridge, Pepperdine University, and the Chicago School for Professional Psychology.
Outside of the therapy office, Curt is an avid runner. He is a USA Track & Field Level 2 Endurance Coach and has completed more than a dozen marathons, and many more half marathons and shorter races. Curt has coached several athletes to personal records, including qualifying for and competing in the famed Boston Marathon.

I believe that the most profound healing happens when we feel truly seen as a whole human being. My journey to becoming a therapist started at the intersection of art and advocacy. After earning my degree in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music, I realized that words are often the last thing to arrive when we are hurting. This led me to Columbia University for my Clinical Social Work degree, where I learned to bridge the gap between creative expression and deep emotional support.
I spent two formative years at Crisis Text Line, where I sat (virtually) with children, adolescents, and families in their heaviest moments—suicidality, bullying, and the "big" crises that feel impossible to navigate alone. These experiences taught me that no problem is too small and that every person deserves a soft place to land.
When I’m not in the therapy room, I’m usually leaning into my own creative edges. You can find me practicing the aerial arts (which keeps me grounded, ironically), getting lost in a video game, or enjoying the catharsis of a good horror movie. I value authenticity and "nerd culture," and I bring that same genuine, non-judgmental energy to our sessions.

I’m not a "sit on the couch and just talk" kind of therapist. I lead with a mix of empathy, creativity, and a deep respect for how your brain works. I understand that no two people respond to therapy the same way. That’s why I exercise a lot of flexibility in our work together.
In my room, therapy might look like a traditional conversation, or it might look like picking up an instrument. As a Board-Certified Music Therapist, I use music to help foster growth and coping skills for all ages, especially when words feel out of reach. For my younger clients, I incorporate play and a neurorelational lens to meet them exactly where they are developmentally.
My approach is gentle and honest. I work to empower you (or your child) to feel safe, capable, and guided. Whether we are navigating a crisis or simply trying to understand a "stuck" feeling, I’m here to help you find your own rhythm again and believe in your capacity to heal.

Ben Lewis is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #144832) who received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and his Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge.
Ben developed a particular interest in working with clients impacted by loneliness, divorce and addiction during his clinical tenure as a therapist at Child & Teen Counseling in Woodland Hills where he specialized in working with children, adolescents, and families navigating conflict, behavioral issues, and communication breakdowns.
Ben celebrated 10 years in continuous recovery in 2024 and in his free time, you can find him listening to podcasts, going to the gym, shuffling up some Magic the Gathering cards with friends, or making beats on Logic Pro X.

Ben incorporates multiple therapeutic modalities including humanistic, dialectical behavioral, structural and systemic approaches. He is also of the belief that one genuine therapeutic relationship between a client and therapist is worth a thousand interventions. Ben employs a direct, yet sensitive and empathic approach and is skilled in play therapy, communication training, conflict resolution, and parental coaching.

Amit has worked with adults, teens, and tweens facing a variety of challenges. Amit previously worked at the Family Service Agency of Burbank. In a previous life, he worked in post-production as a producer and manager. Amit has also been studying martial arts and holds a second degree black belt in Aikido.
